مكتبة الإسكندرية تحجب مواقع حقوق الإنسان على الإنترنت

القاهرة في 14 أغسطس 2005، وصفت الشبكة العربية لمعلومات حقوق الإنسان اليوم الحظر الذي فرضته مكتبة الإسكندرية على دخول بعض مواقع المنظمات الحقوقية على شبكة الإنترنت بأنه قرار خاطئ ، و يتنافي مع الدور التنويري الذي يفترض بالمكتبة أن تقوم به .

وكان المدير التنفيذي للشبكة العربية لمعلومات حقوق الإنسان وأثناء إلقائه لمحاضرة ضمن الدورة التي نظمتها المؤسسة المصرية للتدريب وحقوق الإنسان في مكتبة الإسكندرية في الفترة من 7-9 أغسطس الجاري

قد حاول دخول موقع منظمة "هيومان رايتس ووتش " كمثال للمواقع الحقوقية المرجعية

إلا أنه لم يستطع الدخول إليه ، حيث أشار بعض المتدربين المنتمين لعدد من مؤسسات المجتمع المدني بالإسكندرية وبعضهم ينتمي لجمعية أصدقاء مكتبة الإسكندرية نفسها

أن المكتبة قد منعت الدخول لبعض المواقع الحقوقية مثل هيومان رايتس ووتش ومنظمة العفو الدولية ، فضلا عن أقسام البريد الإلكتروني التابع لعض المواقع مثل هوت ميل وياهوو .

ومن الغريب أنه ما من أحد استطاع تبرير هذا المنع الذي علم المدير التنفيذي للشبكة أن القرار شمل العديد من المواقع الأخرى دونما أن تقدم إدارة المكتبة تفسيرا لذلك ؟!

وتجد الشبكة العربية لمعلومات حقوق الإنسان أن هذا القرار وأيا كان مبرره ، يتناقض تماما مع دور مكتبة الإسكندرية وتاريخها العظيم ، وأنه يعطي مؤشرا سلبيا على تراجع الحق في تداول المعلومات الذي حٌرم منه زوار المكتبة وكذلك العاملون بها .

كما تناشد المسئولين عن المكتبة سرعة تدارك هذا الخطأ والعمل على إصلاحه ، حتى لا تكون سابقة تحسب على هذا الصرح الكبير ، فضلا عن تكرار مطالبة الشبكة للحكومة المصرية أن تتوقف فورا عن سياسة حجب المواقع التي تنتهجها ضد بعض المواقع المعارضة لها ، مثل موقع حزب العمل وموقع الإخوان المسلمون وكذلك جريدة الشعب المعارضة .

Alexandria library blocks human rights web sites

The Arabic network for Human Rights information described Alexandria library blocking human rights web sites as a wrong decision that contradicts its supposed enlightening role.

The executive director of HRINFO Gamal Eid was there during 7-9th August to deliver a lecture as part of the course organized by the Egyptian institute for training and human rights at the library.

He tried to browse some web sites such as he human rights watch's but he couldn't.

some trainees who are members at human rights NGOs in Alexandria and some members at the library friends association told him that the administration blocked some sites such as human rights watch, amnesty international and some e-mail famous web sites like yahoo and hotmail.

What is strange is that no one could give any kind of explanation for such a decision. Eid knew that there are many other web sites blocked and could not get any explanation from the library's administration.

HRINFO finds this decision, whatever the reasons, contradictory to the role of the library and its grate history.

It is also considered a negative monitor regarding the right o dismantle information of which the visitors and workers of the library were deprived.

HRINFO calls upon the administration to correct this mistake soon and asks the government, again, to stop blocking web sites immediately especially the opposition web sites such as Al-Amal party , Muslim brotherhood and the Shaab newspaper web sites.
